形态描述
体甚细小，侧扁，腹部无棱，尾柄细长。头小。吻短，略尖。口亚上位，下颌稍突，具税利角质缘。唇薄。无须。眼大，位近吻端。鼻孔小。下咽齿发达，3行齿均长，主行齿6枚，侧扁。无侧线，纵列鳞32-33。背、腹鳍起点相对；胸鳍尖；尾鳍叉状。体呈肉色，略透明，体侧具红色纵纹一条，头背具有小黑点群。
生物学
The number of individuals is very small. It becomes sexually matured when it grows to 20 mm long and often lives together with other small fishes and shrimps. It lives in shallow water ditches, ponds and such small water bodies. It feeds on algae and other organic bits in mud and on aquatic weeds.
